Welcome to Aotearoa Vapers Community Advocacy - AVCA New Zealand

Letter3

Dear Members of the Health Committee,

I am writing today to encourage the Committee protect the status of vapes and e-cigarettes in the Smokefree Bill.

New Zealand is leading the world, creating a Smokefree future. And we’ve already made fantastic progress towards the Smokefree Aotearoa 2025 goal.

But vaping is big reason why New Zealand’s overall smoking rate has never been lower and why the country is on track to meet our Smokefree Aotearoa 2025 goal.

And as Minister Verrall says: ‘We need to continue supporting people who smoke tobacco to successfully switch to less harmful products.’

The Smokefree Bill represents an opportunity for us to lock in our progress – by ensuring that adult smokers are afforded continued access to affordable, effective, safer and healthier tobacco alternatives.
